Students are encouraged to participate in extra curricula activities such as sports, entertainment, etc.  There are student clubs such as Campus Christian Fellowship (CCF), Writers Club, French Club, Cadet Corps, Photo J. Club, Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), Public Speakers and Debating Association (PSADA), Ghana Muslim Students Association, Institute of Public Relations – GIJ Chapter, Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), GIJ Chapter, Federation of Environmental Journalists (FEJ), etc.

Educational tours are also regularly organized for students to various parts of Ghana and occasionally to neighboring countries.
